Chocolate Chip Cookies (Tollhouse)

With the Robinson Family secret
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup margarine
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 cups chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.  In large mixing bowl, beat butter and margarine together.  Add sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla.  Beat until creamy.  Beat in eggs.
2. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt.  Gradually add to butter mixture until well-mixed.  Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
3. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake 9-11 minutes.
