Cranberry Sauce

A fresh whole berry chutney/sauce

Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 cups cranberries
 
Directions
1. Wash cranberries and pick over
2. Bring water & sugar to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar
3. Add cranberries and any other optional ingredients to syrup mixture

I usually add dried blueberry/cherry mixture and some spices such as cinnemon, nutmeg, allspice or ginger

4. Sinmmer until cranberries burst, mash them while stirring
5. Remove from heat, cool completely at room temp, then chill in refrigerator. Sauce will thicken as it cools.

Pecans
Orange peel or juice
raisins
blueberries
cinnamon
nutmeg
allspice
ginger
dry red wine
chinese five-spice powder
