image For those using V2, we have improved the search box placed in the left-hand sidebar. Now you can change the default search that is performed when you type a search term and hit Enter. It will remember your last select from the drop down menu. Also, if you want to specify more advanced search parameters you can select Advanced Search and jump directly to it. Let us know how it works for you.

We’ve gotten mostly through our look-and-feel work (there’s still more to do but it won’t be so dramatic). Now we are going to try and bite off some of the features we listed for V2. We’ve had some feedback, but would have liked some more (if you haven’t yet, please do). Our first goal is to make the recipe management in V2 better than that of the original recipe manager. There are some people with a lot of recipes and those are the people we need to hear from. We’ve already made some changes to how you can download your recipes (check that out here). We’ve added the ability to sort your recipe list in different ways (see the top-right of your recipe list). One suggested feature was to be able to make wholesale changes to your recipe tags (thanks Matriarchy). I think we’ll look at that next. The other thing we think might be handy is to download a cookbook of your recipes in a PDF document (suitable for printing). So a question: what changes can we make to be able to manage your recipes better?

We’d also like to hear from some of our members if recipe management in V2 is better or worse than before? What would you miss if we turned off the old recipe manager?

Some of you may have noticed that we are working on version 2 of our website. We have opened it up for the public to watch as we build it out. We are tracking our progress (and some times lack of progress) in our new forums. Please evaluate V2 and give us feedback through the forum. Keep in mind that some things will not work, but you can always jump back to Version 1 to do what you need to do. Thanks for your help and patience.
