Apricot-Almond Bread

Apricots and almonds blend together nicely for this delicious bread...
1 egg
2/3 cup sugar
2 tbsp oil
2 cups Pillsbury's Best all purpose flour or unbleached flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup dried apricots, finely chopped
1 cup sliced almonds
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour bottom only of 8x4 or 9x5 inch loaf pan.  In large bowl, beat egg until light and fluffy.  Add sugar and oil; mix well.  Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.  Blend together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.  Add flour mixture alternately with orange juice and water, beginning and ending with dry ingredients; blend well after each addition.  Stir in apricots and almonds.  Pour into prepared pan.  Bake at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.  Cool 15 minutes; remove from pan.  Cool completely.  Wrap tightly and store in refrigerator.
