Italian Mushroom Skillet

Betty Crocker Favorite Casseroles
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion,chopped (1/2 cup)
2 cups sliced mushrooms (5 oz)
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 jar or can pizza sauce (14-15 ounces)
1 1/2 cups uncooked medium pasta shells
1 1 /2 cups water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
3/4 cup shredded Italian-style four-cheese blend (3 ounces)
Directions:
1. Cook beef, onion,mushrooms and garlic in 12-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.
2. Stir in pizza sauce, pasta, water, sugar and Italian seasoning.  Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
3. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes, stirring frequently, until pasta is tender.  Sprinkle with cheese.  Cover and simmer about 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Notes:
can substitute Monterey Jack or mozzarella cheese
