Unbelievably Delicious Coffeecake

This recipe was the result of an Internet search. It comes from the Breeden Inn Bed and Breakfast, located in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup softened butter or margarine
2/3 cup crushed pecans
1 egg
1/2 easpoon baking soda
1 cup buttermilk
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine flour, sugars, nutmeg cinnamon and butter; mix until crumbly.
3. Measure 1/3 cup crumb mixture into separate bowl and add pecans. Mix. Set aside for topping.
4. Add remaining ingredients to the rest of the crumb mixture and mix well.
5. Pour into a greased 8x11 1/2-inch glass baking dish and sprinkle topping over batter.
6. Bake for 30 minutes or until cake seems firm on top. It's fine when it appears collapsed in the center as long as the sides have lifted slightly from the dish.
7. Serve warm.
Notes:
Optional garnishes: whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, fresh fruit slices.
