Britt's Blue Ribbon Toffee

I won a blue ribbon with this toffee at our state fair.  I have perfected it over the years by making it for my family's annual "Candy Day".
Ingredients:
2 cubes butter, room temperature
1/3 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 T. corn syrup
1 large Hershey's chocolate bar, grated
1-1/2 c. chopped pecans
Directions:
1. Sprinkle 1/2 of the nuts and 1/2 of the chocolate on a 10x15 greased cookie sheet
2. Put butter, water, sugar, and corn syrup in a square electric skillet.
3. Plug in and turn to 350 degrees.
4. Cook 10 minutes from the time you plug it in, stirring constantly.
5. Pour over chocolate and nuts. Don't worry if it doesn't go clear to the edges of the pan.
6. Sprinkle with remaining nuts and chocolate.
7. Chill and break into bite sized pieces.
Notes:
This recipe is not my own creation but, I have made it a hundred times.  This is the best toffee you will ever eat or make. =)

Wow - that sounds fabulous! And not hard to do. Candy always sounds dangerous and difficult to me - all that stuff with the candy thermometer and boiling sugar. My daughter is into making ice cream lately, and I can absolutely see bits of this toffee sprinkled over it.
