Buttercream Frosting

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 t vanilla
5 cups powdered sugar
3 T milk
1. In a stand mixer using the paddle attachment or in a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat the butter and vanilla.  Add the powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time, and beat until smooth.  Gradually pour in the milk and beat to desired consistency.  Refrigerate any leftovers.
