Salisbury Steak (OAMC)

A great meal that is prepared in advanced then frozen for quick and easy preparation.
Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1/4 cup flour
1 cup thinly sliced onion
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 tablespoon beef base (Better Than Bouillon)
1/2 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 cup red wine
1/8 cup sliced green onion
1/8 cup chopped parsley
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
 
Directions
1. Packaging Instructions
2. Do not open ground beef.  Set aside.
3. Put the flour in a small ziploc baggie. Seal securely and with a Sharpie Marker label the outside of the baggie "1".  Set aside.

4. In a gallon-sized ziploc freezer baggie, combine the onion, tomato paste, beef base, garlic, sugar, and red wine.  Seal securely and with a Sharpie Marker label the outside of the baggie "2".  Set aside.
5. In a small ziploc baggie, place green onion, parsley, kosher salt, and black pepper.  Seal securely and with a Sharpie Marker label the outside of the baggie "3".  Set aside.
6. Insert meat and all ingredient baggies into a gallon-size ziploc freezer bag and seal.  With a sharpie marker, label the outside of the bag "Salisbury Steak".
7. Place in freezer.
8. Cooking Instructions
9. Thaw completely in refrigerator. 
10. Remove ground beef and place it in mixing bowl.  Add ingredients from baggie labeled "1" and mix together.  Form in 3 flat, oval shaped patties.
11. Lightly flour each patty.
12. In skillet over medium-high heat, add patties and cook 5 minutes on each side.
13. Add ingredients from baggie labeled "3" to skillet.  Add 2 cups water to baggie, seal, swish, then add to skillet.  Stir to mix.
14. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat.  Cover and let simmer for 15 minutes or until sauce reaches desired consistency.
15. Makes 3 servings.  This recipe can be doubled for 6 servings.
16. Serving suggestions:  Mashed potatoes (or buttered egg noodles) and green beans.
 
Notes:
For best results in quality and packaging, expel as much air from the baggies as possible.
