Italian Casserole

Another comfort food main dish for the winter
Ingredients
1-1/2 lbs. Ground beef
32 oz. Spaghetti sauce
1/2 Cup Water
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Basil
1 teaspoon Oregano
1 teaspoon Sugar
1/4 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
5 Medium Potatoes, thinly sliced
8 oz. Mozzarella, shredded
 
Directions
1. Brown ground beef; drain.  Then add spaghetti sauce, water, salt, basil, oregano, sugar and red pepper.
2. Cook 2 more minutes.
3. In 9 x 13 dish, alternate meat mixture and potatoes, beginning and ending with meat.
4. Cover dish tightly with foil.  Bake at 375 for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender.
5. Remove foil. Sprinkle cheese on. 
6. Bake 10 more minutes.  Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
 
Notes:
Italian....but different.
