Penne a la Vodka

Penne with vodka sauce
3 tablespoon butter or olive oil
1 onion
2 minced garlic cloves
28 oz chopped canned plum tomatos
1/4 cup vodka
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 lb penne
salt and pepper to taste
1. heat butter or olive oil in large skillet over medium heat
2. add the chopped onion and cook until softened, 6min

3. stir in garlic
4. stir in tomatos, vodka, and red pepper flakes
5. simmer for 10 minutes
6. stir in heavy cream
7. meanwhile, cook penne according to package directions
8. drain pasta and combine with sauce, top with cheese
