Any plans to develop an iPhone app or mobile version of the site? Considering iPhones and other such devices are taking over the world it would definitely be a useful tool to offer your users. Thanks!

We are working on developing an app for the iPhone. While the site does work as-is in the iPhone, an actual app will be much better.

I was just wondering this myself! I've had an iPhone for 5 days now, and would LOVE a wegottaeat app! Thanks and can't wait to try it out!

Hi, I just wanted to add a request for an iphone app. If it just allowed me to easily access my own recipes, that would be great. Yesterday, I was at a produce stand and found a really good deal on tomatoes. I thought of a recipe I have and did log in to the site from my phone, but it was quite slow... connection as well as the screen not being ideal for mobile viewing. Thanks for all the hard work. Please know this is NOT a complaint, really just meaning to say if you build it, I will buy it!

What about a generic mobile site?

I'd like to be able to view and navigate the site easily on my android phone.

Hopefully we'll be able to re-use the work we are doing for the iphone app to get android running as well. I should be able to share some progress soon.

Hi everyone. You can now have your first look at the iPhone-compatible WeGottaEat website. For this first version we are not going to allow adding or modifying recipes, it's just read-only for now. Please navigate to http://m.wegottaeat.com in Safari on your iPhone. It's worked in most of the iPhones (and iPod Touches) we've tried. Please let us know if it works for you. It works best if you add it to your Home Screen by clicking the Plus button at the bottom of Safari. If you have any issues, let us know here.

Doesn't work on my android browser.

I can see the app just fine, but when I select anything after I log in, the search box appears and I can't close out of it.

It's odd because it's acting like the whole page is clicked, no matter what I select.

I had my fingers crossed that it would work to a degree on android, but i guess it was too much to hope for. We'll have to look more into what browser android uses and see if we can get a phone or emulator to test on. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Android runs a custom version of webkit. The same browser that Safari and Chrome is based on.

If you download the android SDK, there is an emulator contained within it. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html You should be able to use this to test the website.

Unfortunately, the page acts differently on my Droid than it does on the emulator. On the emulator, I can click recipes, and see the top of them, but scrolling is broken. On my phone, I can't even see the recipes.

I've got a bit of knowledge of php and html, but I'm not sure what that app is built on. I suspect if you take out some of the iphone specific css when the user agent is droid, it might start working.

If you click the search button in the emulator, you can see what happens on the droid. Search doesn't work, and you can't cancel out of it.

Sorry for the double reply, but I noticed that in the emulator, if you select the blank area directly below the text box, it will highlight the main screen in yellow, bring up the search bar and get stuck. This is exactly what I see on my device.

I tried the mobile page today on my iPhone and it works great. Thanks! For the future an app would be even better if you can manage it. I would be willing to pay a couple of bucks for it.

Just added the website link http://m.wegottaeat.com to my iphone - works great! I like the format. Love the fact that it is stored online and not taking memory on my phone! Has the cute little wegottaeat olive icon so I know easily where it is. Thanks!
Anyone know how to access your shopping cart from it?
