Summer Stew

I had my kids name this because we felt it deserved a name. I have been making this for 3 years now and have always just called it the sausage and green bean thing. This is super easy to whip up and quick to get to the table. I served it with french bread tonight.
3/4 lb. bag, fresh green beans (ends snapped off)
4-6 medium, red potatoes
1/2 onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 lb. smoked sausage
1/3 cup water
olive oil, drizzled
1. Quarter the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Slice the smoked sausage lengthwise and then slice crosswise (1/4" slices).
2. In a dutch oven over medium heat, place all of the ingredients and stir to combine.
3. Put the lid on the pot and cook for 20-35 minutes. You will need to come and stir occasionally during the cooking time. I stir probably three times. It is done when the potatoes are tender.
Serve in a bowl along with buttered french bread.
