WILSON'S BBQ AWARD-WINNING EASTERN CAROLINA VINEGAR SAUCE

Makes 3 cups

2 c. cider vinegar
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. red chile flakes
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
1 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 c. ketchup

Whisk the vinegar, water, chile clakes, sugar, Worcestership sauce, salt, pepper, and ketchup in a medium saucepan over low heat.  Simmer the sauce for 30 minutes.
