Frozen Chocolate Banana Truffles

  • Currently 4/5
Makes 9 truffles
1 large banana
1/2 scant teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 5-6 ounce container vanilla greek yogurt
2 Tablespoons Chocolate Hazelnut Spread
12 ounces dark chocolate for melting
1. Slice the banana into 9 thick slices (discarding- or eating- the tips).
2. Dust them with the cinnamon on both sides, then place them in a greased, hot cast iron pan over medium heat.
3. Drizzle the maple syrup over the slices, and turn once to brown both sides.
4. Grease a mini muffin tin and place one slice in each tin. Let cool slightly.
5. Stir together the yogurt and chocolate hazelnut spread and spoon evenly over banana slices.
6. Freeze 4 hours or until firm.
7. Over double boiler, melt chocolate, then working quickly, dip the truffles into the chocolate, then onto wax paper or parchment and put immediately back in the freezer for 5-10 minutes.
8. Enjoy quickly, they get messy (in the best way)!
