Meatloaf from 1950 Life Magazine

Makes 8 servings. From MacGregor Ale House in Raleigh, NC
Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1 1/4 cups diced yellow onion
2 eggs
3/4 cup bread crumbs
2 1/4 teaspoons salt
1/2 Tablespoon pepper
1/2 Tablespoon garlic powder
1 1/2 cups ketchup, divided
 
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, granulated garlic and 3/4 cup ketchup.
3. Using your hands, mix until well-combined. Place the mixture in a loaf pan and top with the remaining 3/4 cup ketchup. Bake for 1 hour.
