Easy Cheesy Crackers

  • Currently 4/5
1 cup whole wheat flour
5 tbsps cold butter (cut into tbsp size chunks)
1-1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend.
3. The mixture will eventually turn into one big ball chasing itself around the bowl (can take a few minutes).
4. Roll the ball into a log about 1-1/2 inches in diameter.  (At this point, you could refrigerate the dough until later.)
5. With a sharp knife, slice the log into 1/4 in ch thick pieces and place each piece flat on an ungreased baking sheet.  (Rotate log around while cutting into slices because the top of the log starts to flatten a little with each cut.)
6. You can either bake the slices as is, or take a fork and gently make an impression to make a prettier cracker.
7. Bake for 8 to 14 minutes or until golden brown (the thicker the slices, the longer to bake).
Makes 24 crackers.  Can be stored in freezer-might double the recipe!
