Whole Wheat Breadcrumbs

Ingredients
Whole wheat bread slices (enough to lay flat on large baking sheet)
 
Directions
1. Breadcrumbs are best if made with stale bread.  Spread slices of whole wheat bread out on a baking sheet and leave on counter for a few hours, or overnight, so that they get "stale."
2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
3. Once slices are ready, be sure they are in one even layer on the baking sheet.
4. Bake for 1 to 2 hours, until they are dried out.
5. Grind up into breadcrumbs by running through the grating blade in a food process or with a hand grater.
 
Notes:
Make a big batch and store the leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer.  Also, see if Whole Foods has whole wheat breadcrumbs (no added/processed ingredients).
