Delicious, chewy, sticky serves 8.
Lifted from the back of a box of porage...
125 g butter
125 g demerara sugar
5 tbsp golden syrup
225 g porage oats
1 tsp ground ginger
1. Preheat oven to 190 C / Gas 5
Grease a 20 cm sandwich tin.  Melt butter in a pan, stir in sugar and syrup.  Add oats and ginger and stir well.
2. Using the back of a metal spoon, press mixture evenly over base of tin and smooth over.
3. Bake for 20m.  Cool for 15m in the tin then score into 8 wedges.  Cool completely, turn out and break into wedges.
Serve with a good strong cuppa!
