Spicy Apple Butter - Publication International

Ingredients
5 pounds tart cooking apples (McIntosh or Granny Smith), peeled, cored and quartered (about 10 large apples)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup apple juice
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
 
Directions
1. Combine all ingredients in slow cooker. Cover; cook on low 8 to 10 hours or until apples are very tender.
2. Mash apples with potato masher. Cook, uncovered, on low 2 hours or until thickened, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
